Do you have a digital camera? Have you
spent many hours at your computer working
on your photographs? Do the results match
your expectations or the pictures you see
in the magazines and web sites?
Perhaps you tried your local high street
photo processing shop but felt doubtful about
their digital imaging capability, quality
and lack of a personalised service?
Have you struggled to obtain fade free or
colour accurate photo realistic printing
even with the top selling Epson Stylus Photo
printers?
To get the best results with digital imaging
can require a considerable investment in
time and money.
The best results obviously require some creative
talent. However, the tools of the professional
trade can include top end 35mm digital cameras
(e.g. Nikon D1X at 3,500 GBP excluding a
lens); or medium format digital (e.g. Mamiya
and digital back up to 14,000 GBP); or traditional
plate film cameras and a high quality scanner
(e.g. top Drum scanners up to a cool 100,000
GBP); a PC or a Mac; and professional image
manipulation software (e.g. PhotoShop at
about 600 GBP).
Epson consumer printers are meant to produce
prints that are resistant to fading for about
20 years. In practice, this is unlikely and
there are many examples of prints fading
within weeks and even days with these printers.
The cheapest Epson printer that is fade resistant
is about 800.00 GBP but the print quality
is questionable.
